The African Heritage Centre is also working with a new and unique group called The Masked Drummers of Africa! Masked Drummers use drums which have been played since at least 500 A.D., drums that have been used in healing ceremonies, rites of passage, ancestor worship, warrior rituals, and social dancing.
The Masked Drummers perform a series of rhythms; some accompanied by song, chants and dance. The Drummers hail from different African countries. Each mysterious Drummer wears a ceremonial mask from their village. A mask believed to be the link of the tribe and their ancestors - and the Drummer. Who are these talented musicians - come and find out!
